What is a chipboard case? Chipboard is actually reinforced cardboard. Made in multiple glued layers, the material is put through heavy presses to obtain its rigidity. Patterns are then cut and sections are sewn together with industrial threads to form a particular shaped case. The inside of the case can be lined with nylon or a plush felt material. Decorative handles and latches are then attached. While the customary case is black in color and has a faux leather appearance, cases can also be made in denim and a variety of colorful exterior appearances.
